Welcome to Candlelighters of the DC Metro Area

DC CandlelightersDC Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit support group for families with children diagnosed with cancer in the Washington, DC metropolitan area (including Northern Virginia and Maryland ) and consists of volunteer parents who have had a child with cancer, and others who have an interest and a passion for childhood cancer issues. We believe no family should have to face the uncertain world of cancer alone, and therefore we provide emotional and educational support to families. We are affiliated with the National Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation.

If you have come to this website, it is probably because the unthinkable has occurred. Your child, your grandchild, niece, nephew, a child that you know and love, has been diagnosed with cancer. None of us ever expect to find ourselves face to face with the heartbreaking diagnosis of childhood cancer, but if you read on, we think you will see that there is much hope and help available to you. You do not have to endure the painful road of childhood cancer alone. We are families that have walked in your shoes, we are here for you, and we want to help.
